about
the Girl behind the lens, Christina
Christina Leigh
My goal in starting my journey into photography has never been centered around making money or having the most followers on Instagram. I started this because as I got so caught up in my day to day, I found myself missing two very important things: a creative outlet and connecting with my community.
Since turning my passion into more than just a hobby at the start of 2023, I already feel so fulfilled in ways I never could have imagined. I have met so many kind and beautiful people and learned of their stories. I have ventured deeper into my community in ways I didn’t even know existed. I have learned to see the beauty in the everyday, the simple things & that EVERYTHING is worth capturing. THIS is why I chose to pursue photography, and what keeps me going everyday.
I once had a friend say to me,
“I love the way you see the world.”
& what a beautiful compliment it was.
I have come to realize how truly blessed I am in this life. I have a phenomenal support system & I owe a lot of my success to them. I think when it comes to art, surrounding yourself with inspiring people & cultivating a healthy environment are so important. Everything is intertwined in the most complicated, beautiful way.
Charleston is such a unique, alluring city with so much charm. I feel so blessed to not only live in this city but to also create art in it. Growing up in California & then moving here to the south in 2018 has defined not only me but also my style. I like to call it California Southern: Laid Back & Adventurous yet Comforting & Timeless.
