John & Sarah on Sullivan’s Island
If you’re like me, you also suffer when fall turns into winter and the days get shorter and shorter. I CRAVE sunlight, for afternoon walks, for my flowers on my balcony, and for the light to hit just right at my beach photoshoots. I’m not sure if it was the light they radiated or just sheer luck, but when John and Sarah visited Charleston on this December Day, it almost felt like a summer day… the sun shining as bright as ever :)
We started off the session easy, just chatting for a while before I had them walk up and down the boardwalk holding hands, stopping for a slow dance, embrace or kiss, whatever felt natural to them :) I also experimented with putting a plastic bag over my lens to create this dreamy effect, and needless to say I’m in love!
We started our session at Station 21 on Sullivan’s Island. I absolutely love photographing at the beach, but especially at this spot. The boardwalk screams cinema, and the dunes are just asking to be explored. Not to mention you get a perfect view of the lighthouse.
After exploring the dunes for a bit, I had John & Sarah sit down and get comfortable with each other, as if they were enjoying a sunset date night!
Lastly, we headed to the beach. Can you believe John and Sarah were brave enough to dance around in the waves, in DECEMBER! How cute are these pictures though :) Some poses here were piggy back rides, run and jump into Johns arms then spin around, and dip your head back letting your hair flow in the wind :) I couldn’t have asked for a better December beach session with these two :) Come back to Charleston soon!
